Hey guys, while I know it's the most beneficial to us if we are masters at all the topics the MCAT tests. I am learning a lot of stuff for the first time and a lot of rusty stuff. I have still 3 months and looking at the material that needs to be covered, I don't think I will be able to recall every detail. I will have a general sense of the big pictures but there is no way I will KNOW everything. I am just wondering to what extents do you guys know the material? EVERYTHING, pretty in depth, general, nothing much (hopefully not 😀)
Thanks!

No. Be familiar with everything, but know formulas, even ones that are not stressed in prep books because there was a question on my test today dealing with a formula that wasn't emphasized at all in any of the prep books.

And there will always be a few weird WTF questions where you just guess and hope for the best.

I asked myself that same question too and I would have liked to say I knew everything after studying it several times but for me I feel that the only way to actually learn everything is to go through and test myself in some way (both through the text and through practice problems) and I make a record of what kinds of information I am able to easily think through and what kinds are giving me trouble... then I just work on my weaknesses and don't bother with my strengths as much. So far, this has helped me to manage all the material. I can go through all of physics or all of chemistry and identify a pattern in which subjects I seem to have a hard time with. I love being able to say, "I know this topic pretty well now" because it gives me one less thing to worry about so that I can spend my days worrying about stuff I don't know. I guess it's like working a puzzle where you fill in all the missing pieces, but knowing which pieces is missing is not always that easy until you do some practice problems and constantly test yourself by asking questions. I can't imagine how a life long procrastinator can study for this test.... trying to cram everything.... lol So, I agree with zona in that you should actually try to know everything.
