Is it Really Too Late?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think it really depends on your stats. I tried to apply late to a couple schools with a crappy MCAT and ended up withdrawing my applications after speaking to an adcom representative. (I've actually been accepted to that same school now).
So I guess it really just depends on numbers. If you have a great GPA, ECs, and a nice MCAT, sure why not...otherwise you might just be wasting your time and money (like I did). They don't tell you to apply early for nothing.

I submitted most of my application materials and documentation to AACOMAS by early January. And no - I did not do poorly with MD school applications and look for an easy way out (DO is not an easy way out of anything). I just recognized the holistic approach to medicine is a better approach to my philosophy of life in every way.

That's funny, because your previous posts from this month indicate you did apply MD and aren't getting any love from them 🙄
Anyway, secondary applications are due March 1 or 15 for the most part, which means if your primary app hasn't even been sent, you're going to be cutting it really close to the deadline. The general consensus seems to be that people who get interviews dates later in the cycle (April/May) are pretty much interviewing for a spot on the wait list. Now, people do get acceptances this late in the game, but that is the exception, not the rule.

Wait til next year. You'll have more options. Sorry. For instance, PCOM only interviews for another month and a half.

In another 2-3 weeks they'll prob have given out 95 percent of their interview invites.
