Is it too late to add more DO schools for those with little to no MD interviews

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm not sure, but I've seen a lot of this type of question and sentiment on SDN as of recently...

As an adcom, I feel like I'd wonder if those who applied with their primary at this time of the year were doing so specifically because they weren't getting the results they wanted with their current applications. And does any school want to take the time with someone who they feel is using them as a backup. That they really didn't necessarily want to be "there."

Maybe someone who knows can let us know if that is on the school's radar.

I can see why that may be an issue, but I also feel like that may be more of an issue when adding MDs late. I feel like most DO schools know that their applicants prefer MD schools over them and are probably going to be using them as a back up even if they applied early...

The DO school I applied to and interviewed with asked questions specifically geared to test my preference for MD over DO. My guess is that this is not considered positive (i.e., if they offer me a spot, how likely is it that I get accepted and just go to the MD school I got in, just because it is DO). It doesn't make sense, then, to offer me a spot that could just as easily go to someone who "wants" to be there.

This happens every year. If you apply on time and have a strong application, then they will most likely show interest in you no matter what your reasoning is for being somewhat late. I chose my DO school over my state MD.

Do you mind sharing why?
