I have been starting to get the courage and money to add more AMCAS schools. I initially only applied for like 6 since as a TX student I felt it was a waste. But with no TMDSAS love and a few AACOMAS As under my belt, I'm wondering if I should add a few. It might be too late but I saw a few open on AMCAS. Should I apply to one of these:
Roseman
Drexel
Quinnipac
Temple
Howard

I have a 503, 3.8cGPA, 3.6sGPA w/ a preventive med/primarycare/public health ffocus (ORM)

N = 1 but I am still submitting secondaries, so you aren't alone. However, I would submit to schools that are more or less within your stat range and strong mission fit. For a school to look at our applications this late, it needs to be reasonable, you know?

Wishing you the best of luck and congrats on your current acceptances.

I wouldn't. Even though you may be within deadlines at those schools, we're late enough in the cycle that I'm not sure it is worth the secondary fee. If you're looking to apply to just one school and are looking for your best shot, Methodist Cape Fear just started accepting applications for this cycle so you're actually still making good time there.

I did add Methodist Cape Fear and am honestly really intrigued by the location and their mission. Hopefully that works out. I wish finances worked out when I sent out the primaries to shoot my shot wider.

So even Roseman would be a donation?
They are on a traditional schedule again for their 2nd class. I do not know how much trouble they had last cycle, but it appears they were able to fill the class on time based on the school-specific thread here on SDN.

@Goro is right. Your problem isn't your school list, it's your MCAT. And contrary to what many think, new schools tend to lean very heavily on metrics for their early classes.

You mentioned back in October that you had landed a couple of DO interviews; that route is your best bet by far.

You list 2 offers in-hand. If you grew up anywhere near Wilmington or in rural NC, you might as well try Methodist since they are brand new. Otherwise, you have 2 offers; I'd suggest you focus your attention and your money there.

That's fair, just trying to maximize and ensuring I have covered all my bases. I am fortunate for how things are going at all. I am hoping I get an A at 1 of the DO schools I am interviewing soon and make the choice easy, or happy to go to one of the two I was accepted at. Not trying to sound ungrateful at all.
I did throw my hat into the ring for Methodist to just shoot my shot and won't add anymore.

I do have 2 As and am waiting to hear back on another, so I am definitely fortunate to be where I am. Just want to cover all bases.

That's totally reasonable. This was the krpytonite of my app from the get go, so I get that. Thanks for being honest.
FYI, OOS MD schools know from historic norms that TX applicants stay in TX, thanks to that cheap in-state tuition.

Those that do leave TX for OOS schools tend to be superstars.
