Is it too late to apply to podiatry this cycle?

Hi, my friend is planning on submitting his apps to pod schools by the end of May.
I'm not sure about the specific of his stats, but I know it's around 3.0 for both sGPA and cGPA, no MCAT, and pretty much no ECs.
He is super non-trad, hence why there aren't any recent ECs like volunteering. He has shadowed a DPM before and currently works more than full-time (80h/wk).

I am recommending that he applies this upcoming cycle, with an MCAT score and when he has started his medical asst job for clinical hrs.
Any suggestions? Thank you
