Is it too late to send in secondaries now?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
At htis point, given turn-around times, you'd be, at best, interviewing for a wait-list seat only.

I have had very little exposure to DO physicians until recently, and have only recently realized that I can still do what I ultimately want to do in terms of care, research, and specialization as a DO. My application is already verified, but I was wondering if it is considered too late to send in secondaries (with above average MCAT and GPA)?

Any input greatly appreciated!

you might have a chance at the newer schools... how much above average is your MCAT and GPA? ...if you have super amazing stats then you might be able to overcome having a late application at certain schools..

Schools I looked into were KCOM, CCOM, OU, DMU, etc

You've already paid for the initial application, so you might as well pay for the secondaries, imo. Plan on reapplying, though.

Not a chance unless you have some eye catching stats probably.

Unless you were either URM or had ridiculously good stats, I would wait until next year and just apply DO alongside MD. Interviewing for a waitlist isn't all bad though since the possibility of getting off could happen, especially if you continue to show interest.

Are you applying because MD hasn't worked out?

Probably true, but OP recognizes DO will get him where he wants to go.
