I was suppose to take the DAT in mid august, but i felt very unprepared and my scores are just really low. Now i am planning to take it late september---I feel like its really late and they won't consider me for the first batch😕

I'm a Canadian applicant from the 08 cycle and I took my american DAT during the last week of sept (I didn't know the application cycle in the US opens so early). Here's what happened to me.
Wrote the DAT late Sept, Submitted everything by mid-to late Oct. AADSAS recieved and processed everything by the 3rd week of Nov, and the schools received my full application around Dec 11th. Then, I had to waste more time as they sent me letters asking for my application fee for each individual school. So I didn't have my first interview until Feb.
I think if you're competitive enough (solid DAT scores and GPA ~3.7+ [I had a 3.8] ) you should be fine. But, I should mention that some of the schools I applied to already filled up their classes, and the schools I did interview at had most of their seats filled already. So just blaze the interview when you get them and hope for the best...!

Well my gpa isnt amazing, its a 3.6 overall and 3.53 science---My application is filled out and they were mailed out today--my dat score is just really bad right now, esp chem and math😡--i appreciate your thoughts tho🙂

im in your exact same situation.....except i was gonna try to take the test at the end of august but the way the studying is going, i dont even know if that is realistic....gen chem and math kill me as well!!!! you do have a better gpa than me though(3.4 science and overall)...i would love to know what others thought about this!?!?!?!?!?! do good letter of rec. and some research balance out takin the dat late or is it just bc the classes fill up so quick?

Hey guys,
I was worried about my score too. I think you should go out and get the DAT Destroyer. Its a great book and i really think it will help improve your score. Best of luck with everything!

I am glad i am not the only one! i studied for 2 months with no significant improvements-so I decided to take kaplan even though i have heard mixed opinions about their course...I do have destroyer, i am starting to study that and then next week kaplan starts. i havent been able to study right either😡 for math, i think you need to just get used to the strategies in solving the problems quick-thats one subject i think you can improve in quickly--dont lose hope, we still have some time-g'luck studying!!!! i think i heard that it takes aadsas 3 weeks to process you dat scores, which in my case will be towards mid/late october--its still REAL late-lets see what happens😕😕

for math you just really have to practice practice practice. >.< the kaplan math problems they give to help us is really good. try doing it during the time limit they give you. it helped me alot.
