If I am a California Resident, Is it worth applying to University of New England or MSDOH

I haven't done too much research on MSDOH, but I have for UNE and they seem to strictly prefer New England residents, as stated on their website. Their main goal is to address the public health crisis in dentistry for their state, and being from NE, it is a big problem up there in Maine, more than people think. Unless you have an exorbitant amount of information on your app. that would prove you would actually consider residing there after graduation to address this public health issue, I would say to look elsewhere.

Agreed. MOS will be similar. Focus is on shortage in Missouri. With so few seats at both of these schools, you would have to be a pretty convincing applicant. The logic of new private schools being an option for OOS doesn't really work here.

Do you really want to travel to Maine and Missouri? I would pick more established schools to travel to and interview at.

I am applying to Maine from New York; as a non-traditional, the school I get accepted at will be the last place on this earth I move to--forever. Although I am OOS, I would move to South Portland as it is beautiful, gorgeous and perfect for bringing up a family, at least for me. I guess what I'm saying is that it depends on what you are looking for in a school--not just want the school wants.
