i took the test 3 years ago, but scored a 28 on the orgo section-- with a HORRIBLE background in orgo (had taken it a few years earlier and had forgotten everything i had learned, and had not done all that well in the class in the first place). i used ONLY KAPLAN to study (i have another post under "best materials for the DAT" if you want to read my study strategy). for orgo, i went to all of the kaplan lectures, re-read and made sure i understood all practice problems in the class notes, and then did every orgo problem available at the kaplan center. i kept a notebook where i recorded every question i did not understand or got wrong with answer choices and explanations so that i could review them whenever possible (weekends, between classes, etc)-- i basically just kept reviewing the kaplan problems until i had no problem looking at them and getting them right (and understanding why the answer was right). i'm not kidding-- i was an english major in college and was very nervous about orgo and chem before taking the test, and i could not recommend kaplan more. the full-lenght simulation tests were also really helpful and i included the questions from those in my notebook as well. hope this helps. -cd1998
