Hi all,

The doctor I shadowed did not write the LOR on official letterhead (according to Interfolio). Is that ok?

LORs should have a signature and official letterhead. Some schools won't care, but some definitely will.
If they are courteous enough to let you know, missing requirements will delay the processing of your application to the schools that do care.
Feeling lucky? I'd ask the doctor to resubmit.

I asked my doc to put it on an official letter head when he printed it (i wrote it). I’ve see many posts of schools caring about the letter head. You should get it done.

Most will not care, but if your doctor will probably not mind adding the letterhead, ask him

While most don't, my school definitely did but didn't let me know for ~4 weeks and even then it was right before the holidays, significantly delaying my application there.
They happened to be my #1 choice - so to avoid the stress, I'd recommend politely, but persistently asking the writer to correct the formatting.

I sent him a message.

I didn't mention this but on Interfolio it specifically said: "non-official letterhead"

Does that make this any better?

That’s interfolio’s way of telling you there’s a problem with the letter.

I will never understand why someone would write a letter that is one of the most important in someone's life and not put it on official letterhead. Sometimes a letter will be received by interfolio not on letterhead and it is because of the way it was transmitted. Letters should be saved as a pdf to be sure the letterhead shows up. If it is just a doc the letterhead may not show. Have seen this happened many times when reviewing files at my school. The letters just do not carry as much weight when they don't appear "official".
