I guess I should have included this in my previous post. sorry. But anyways, how much does a physiology class help you on the DAT. 70% of the biology section in the Kaplan BB seems to be on human physiology, so it seems beneficial. What do you guys say?

Gracias

honestly, i dont think human physiology is helpful on DAT at all...i took the class this past spring, hoping it'd help me on the dat...and it didnt...

because the DAT tests on a lot of animal and plants, human physiology doens't really help much...you'll probably get a few human phys questions...but i'd say know those damn animals well..lol

I haven't taken my DAT yet but this past spring i took physiology, anatomy and anatomy lab. After taking those classes, it surely seems like biology section is much more easier.

Personaly, I think a physiology class is way too detailed for what we need to know for the DAT. I took a lower level physiology class, and an upper level physiology class. The lower level class (which I highly recommend goes in just the right amount of depth required for the DAT. The upper level physiology class is way too detailed, for example, we were learning about the enzyme aromatase which converts testosterone to estrogen (I really don't think we need to know that).

A lower level Physiology class can be very helpful: We used a University Text Book for this class, but this book went into the exact amount of depth that the cambel and reece section does for 'animal form and funtion' 🙂 .

Just for comparison, the upper level physiology class I took required, 'principles of physiology', by berne and levy. It's the text book they use in most dental/medical schools :scared: (I think).

Cambel and Reece is to Unverisity Biology

as

Berne and Levy is to Dental/Medical Physiology

Good Luck, I hope you do take a lower level physiology class in your University, (if it is offered), I'm sure you will benefit from it, or just read the cambel and reece text book on that section 😉 .

I dont want to hijack this thread, but Berne Levy is the worst textbook I have ever read 🙂
