I have problem with figuring out whether to take Human Anatomy and physiology at Community College. The reason is because my current situation is that University i go to right now only offers Human Anatomy only in Summer and Fall. So i could only take Anatomy, not Physiology. University has separated Anatomy and Physiology separately. idk why. it's so frustrating. They offer Human Physiology only in Spring 2016. Since i already graduated from University, i am a non-degree seeking student and i may or may not be able to sign up for Human Physiology next year since i have the least privilege to register or can sign up at last.

Would medical school care if i take human anatomy at CC? Taking it at CC would save a lot of money and i will have assurance that i will be able to take human anatomy and physiology together in fall and in spring. But at University, idk if i will be able to take human physiology next year...

Are you sure the med schools you want to apply to need anatomy and physiology? I know most, if not all med schools, don't require anatomy as a pre-req. Is there an animal phys course offered at your uni? I'm sure med schools would accept animal phys as an upper level bio.

it is not required. But i want to take it. I'm just afraid that some med schools look down on CC

No, it is not bad. You are absolutely fine taking a class (any class) at a CC.

It only 'looks bad' if you're taking all your hard prerequisites (Orgo, Biochem, etc.) at a CC and saving all the easy stuff for your alma mater.

The only exception to this rule is if (1) the MD program your applying to says that you need an Anatomy/Physio class and (2) the same school says you cannot take it at a CC. Check out the MSAR for more info on that.

Thank you all for replying back

If I take human anatomy at CC or University, does it matter where i take it when i apply to medical school? The reason I'm asking is because if i don't need to take human anatomy, i would prefer not to take it and just focus on MCAT. Idk why i just feel so inadequate because i have not taken many science courses. That is because I majored in Mathematics. I have taken Gen Bio, Gen Chem, Gen Physics, Math, English prior graduation. I am gonna take Organic Chemistry I & II this Fall 2016 and in Spring 2017. I currently signed up for Human Anatomy at University and I felt like i needed to take H.A since i did not take many science classes. I had taken Cellular Biology. I was not able to take molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, endocrinology, etc due to time conflict.

Would it be fine just with high MCAT score and prerequisite?

Thank you for clarity. And yes i was taking it because i was preparing for med school and i thought i needed to take it prior to medical school

Not necessary at all. Here's what you need to know: there's a heart, two lungs, two kidneys, one brain, one spleen, and one liver. Don't let those "twos" fool you, that can get tricky.

Will I be able to get into medical school with just taking prerequisite courses, though? I have majored in Mathematics and graduated last year 2015.
My GPA was 3.23 overall
Last time I checked my science GPA without Organic Chemistry was 3.05. If I get an A in organic chemistry I & II then my science GPA will be 3.19.

The followings are the courses I took in undergrad. Pre-Med Courses.
Gen Chem I: A
Gen Chem II: B
Gen Physics I: B-
Gen Physics II: B+
Gen Biology I: C+
Gen Biology II: B
Organic Chemistry I: N/A
Organic Chemistry II: N/A
English Writing About Medicine: B
English Writing About Food: A-
Calculus I: A-
Calculus II: B
Calculus III: A
Calculus IV: A
Statistics : A
Intro to Psychology: B
I have taken Cellular Biology (C+) as well.

I've taken those aforementioned courses about 3-4 years ago. I took them while I was in college. I know that i need to repair my GPA and i was thinking if taking human anatomy at CC or at University would help me when i apply for medical school.

so you'd recommend to focus on MCAT? My primary goal is now to study MCAT and get high score and get A's in Organic Chemistry I & II. Not going to take Human Anatomy, since it isn't necessary.
