Is there a point to applying MD w/ 7 in verbal?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
if you have close to a 4.0, or amazing ECs, or are URM, or have state schools w/ lowerish stats, go for it. Definitely apply to MD and DO, though.

I scored a 7 verbal (29 overall), had a 3.9 GPA in chemical engineering, and some good EC's. With that, I was accepted to 5 MD schools out of 7 interviews. Hope this helps!

As most people have stated, there are many facets to your med school application and acceptance. There are far too many factors to make your 7 in VR a direct rejection, but it does lower your changes VERY SIGNIFICANTLY. Obviously, your GPA, ECs, research/etc, URM, interviewing capability, essays, etc play a large role in redeeming yourself.
