I am planning on attending any respectabe medical school. I am a junior (I just finished the sophomore year) right now and have a GPA of about 3.4 but I am quite confident that I can raise it up to a 3.6 (is it even possible?) at a minimum. The thing that frustrates me a lot is that I am always loosing an "A" just by a small difference. I mean I had 4 classes till now that I got grades ranging between 89.41 - 89.47. I am being really honest and this just ticks me off.

So, I was wondering if there is any way that I can show that I am not that bad at my classes that I got a straight up B. Any help will be appreciated.

yours truly

I mean the answer to your GPA question would be to get mostly A's for your junior and senior year. That would definitely boost your GPA to a 3.6.

Unfortunately, a med school isn't going to see that 89.4999 they see a B+, so just do you're best and hope for the best. If the B's were in science courses like bio, chem, etc..., you can prove to them that you know the material well by doing stellar on the MCAT.

You should probably refrain from writing your real name here as well

At the bottom of your post there is a little button marked "edit". Click it and edit your post to remove your name. You don't need anyone finding this on a google search.

As for the close but not close enough grades.... I'm guessing your school doesn't have +/- which is quite unfortunate. You can always ask the professors in those B courses for letters of recommendation and they may write letters noting how close you were to an A and how hard you worked.

It definitely sucks but there's really nothing you can do about it. You can only do the best you can do and that's it whatever the results may be. Med school is going to be ridiculously hard and you're competing against the best hence you grades won't necessarily reflect the amount of work you put in. You'll drive yourself crazy trying to get that Honors when some people are just supremely talented AND hard working. You just can't beat that, so if at the end of the day you tried your best ... that's all you can ask for. No regrets man, keep moving forward.

If you get straight A's from here on out you can raise your GPA to a competitive 3.7.. :luck:

Dear Shanthan Challa,

It is possible to show medical schools your actual numbers. Just complete Form 001-378 on the AMCAS web site and send that to the medical schools.

There's only 1 person with your name on facebook, that was too easy dude. O, and I wasn't aware that facebook was coming out with a phone...

Name: I should have seen that, I was actually using that for my mentor too, so I wrote my name.

Grades: Well that sucks. Thanks for the replies any way. I guess I can just try. I think that form is hoax. If not can you let me know more about it. If it is, YES I am that gullible in this matter.

Facebook phone: Well, I am pretty sure they are coming out with one. Lets see what happens, I am not that excited.

This post is bad on many levels. If you're so concerned about your grades, you should've done better in the first place.

Also, you definitely shouldn't post your real name...

I guess, but I am not begging for any grades here. I just wish there was a way that I can actually show that I got those instead of a 79.5
