I just received A- in ochem, and I am very frustrated because I worked so hard for that class and knew I could have gotten A in the class. Is there big difference between A and A- in Ochem? Would adcom prefer an applicant who got A in ochem over A-?

Thank you

EDIT: You're Pre-Dent, why are you posting in Pre-Med?

You good bro.

I would never fully trust a doctor who only got an A- in organic chemistry.

Just kidding!

Those people never become doctors.

I actually knew a pre-med in college who got A- in organic chemistry. The Caribbean schools wouldn't take a chance on him because of his o-chem grade, so now he's an M2 at the lowest-ranked medical school in the Republic of the Congo.

My point is that there's still a chance that OP can become a doctor. He doesn't need your discouragement right now.

Time to start looking into alternative career paths...

Getting an A- in organic is kinda like driving under the influence and t-boning a school bus full of kids. You’re done. Maybe in another life bud.

the difference is precisely 0.33

More like 0.33(4)/120 because it contributes 0.33 fewer grade points on 4 units of credit over 120 units required for graduation. It is even less than that if you complete more than 120 credits.

For the record, OP, most strong applicants worst grade is in O-chem.

Onward and upward!
