Is there is a way to make schools reconsider you!

I wonder if someone ever got rejected from a school without an interview and then was able to convince them to reconsider!

There was a story like this on fb but I don't remember the exact details- I think it was either because the school apparently never received the secondary fee (when the student did pay it) OR because a student called after getting rejected, asked what they could do to improve their app, but ended up finding out that the school had never even actually reviewed the student's app in the first place... OR I could be going crazy in school and be mixing and/or making things up. 😛 :dead:

It's usually unlikely for them to reconsider though, I'd say. You could try a letter of interest, but usually a rejection tends to be final (unless it was an extreme case like above).

I know someone who got rejected without interview at UCSF last year, and then later got a January interview and was accepted
I am pretty sure they didn't contact UCSF or do anything
person had high stats and ECs though, I was surprised they did not get an interview initially...

Thanks a lot. I remember reading this story too. I was just curious if it can even happen
