My plan is to take pact in Jan but thought I might take a refresher math class this fall. I have been out of school a while and am a registered dietitian and have now decided to try to go to pharmacy school as well but need to brush up on my math. I had calculus but it has been a while and thought maybe a college algebra class would help me brush up on my skills while studying??

For those of you who have taken the pact what do you think?.

Thx!!!

Algebra is very important, my professor always said that even if you understand a concept or anything in calculus, if you don't know how to do the algebra you're screwed. I didn't have much calculus on my PCAT, just a few simple derivatives and integrals. What helped me the most is being able to get through simple calculations in a matter of a few seconds to save on time.
As far as your college algebra class, it depends on how you learn. Personally I would prefer to check out an algebra book from the library for free and learn from that, and then use the internet as a resource for any questions. If you learn better from a professor and you have no problem spitting out the money, then the class is perfect.

Thanks for your response!! I thought maybe I would be more attentive to a class then learning on my own and letting the teacher know my plan and maybe they can work with me on getting thru a problem fast. Thx for the advise!!
