is this a solid clinical experience?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Recently got a part-time job at an oral surgeon's (not an MD) office for both front/back office help. I have already applied for med. schools but I only have around 100 hospital patient volunteer hours that I completed about a year ago, so I want to be able to talk about a clinical experience I am in right now at interviews. Was wondering if this would be something to hop on (It pays much worse than my tutoring and chem. TA job) or just wait a couple more weeks to get back into a hospital volunteering position I just applied for??
No it's not.

Administrative work generally isn't clinical experience. You want to be dealing with patients directly. Go volunteer at a free clinic if you can - that's a great way to get meaningful clinical experience.

"Back office" can mean injections!

Morsetlis dont hype up the op. Unless they have some medical assistant or lvn cert., that wont be happening. Nor will the doc train them on the job. Theres a high chance you will be pushing papers and answering phones. If you need the money by all means do it and enjoy the one on one with the doc. But thats pretty much where it ends.
