Is this app photo acceptable?

Guys, this a serious question and I'm not trolling. So I wanted to test out the photo feature on Vandy's secondary app to see if it would upload a photo...to my horror, I can't seem to find a way to change it. Is it acceptable or should I call the admissions office tomorrow and see how I can change it to something more appropriate? Maybe I should just submit now and email them a professional photo tomorrow?

First impression is usually the most important. With that being said that picture looks like the most unprofessional BS any medical school has probably ever received. Even if you call and change the picture, I'm pretty sure they're going to remember your name when the right time comes.
 
Guys, I added in the cloud and the smiley face (for anonymity on SDN of course)! How would they remember my name because of this? Pretty unprofessional picture but, trust me, it looks much cleaner without the additions. :laugh: I'll probably hold off on submission and call the school tomorrow.

I say you resubmit with the cloud and face. It adds pizazz.

I'm sure they'd all be thrilled to interview Mr. Bill!

I actually lost my left hand in a snow-mobile accident and the doctors told me no one would notice a prosthetic. 🙁

I think the photo is awesome, you should really start a trend as photos like these actually show the AdCom a lot about the applicant. I was noticing after my interview at Vandy, and after some guys and I had changed into our street clothes at the airport, that in suites we are all the same, but our personality is shown through our clothes.

Anyway, start a trend, preferably with the cloud and face 🙂
 
I would contact them and figure out how to change it. Sorry to hear of your problem; I would freak out if this happened to me, though I doubt it will affect your standing with them as long as you get it worked out. The prosthetic hand thing is pretty funny though.
