Ok at my school there is a new class which is an internship students apply for. In the description, ut says students "assist faculty members and residents of the ______ Department of Emergency Medicine in their clinical research studies." However, it also says students will be involved in patient recruitment for the student, determine patient eligibility, read info about the study to patients, and collect data regarding patient history. So would this research experience be considered a clinical experience as well?

The term clinical research already suggests some level of patient interaction. If you're close enough to smell patients, then it's a clinical experience. -LizzyM

But to answer your question, I'd just stick with 'clinical research'.

So would this research experience be considered a clinical experience as well?
It sounds like it would qualify as both. Even though it's a class, you could list it under Research, and make the patient interaction clear with the title and description you give it (since it isn't Employment or Community Service/Volunteer-Medical/Clinical). Or you could use the Other designation.
