Is this site realistic?

I visited this website after it was posted by a member on another thread: http://www.acusd.edu/~e_cook/

While I knew the UCs were extremely difficult to gain admission into, I did not expect some of the figures they offer.

I have a feeling the site may not be completely objective, but I'm far too inexperienced to make any claims. What do you guys think?

Maybe.... maybe not....

Like any advice you have to take things with a grain of salt.... I think those statistical analysis are out there for you to weight your chances but should not be an ultimate decision for you....

It does makes you think about applying to a UC though doesn't it?

Anyone else have any thoughts on this....?

I thought the numbers were relatively realistic the first time, in fact they may well be factual, but don't take this site as official UC stats. It is a personal homepage of someone at the University of San Diego (not UCSD). And there's a lot of anti-AA propaganda on it, and just so everyone knows I officially have a 19% chance of getting into a UC med school (I guess this means I should apply to all 5 🙂 )

Interesting stats:

UC Davis entering stats for Black/Hispanic students: 3.38 gpa/9.6 MCAT

UC Irvine: 3.45/9.52

I understand that the guy is anti-AA, but these numbers don't look bad at all. Unfortunately, he didn't have the scores for the other medical schools. ( I only considered the year 2000 scores.)
Sadly, the Law schools saw an abismal disparity. As always,a frustrating situation. You can either fight for a poorly prepared, unfair plan, or throw your entire culture's chance to be self-sufficient to fate. ( Well UCLA looked pretty even)

Enough rambling. His race meter seems broken. According to it an Asian/White with 3.35gpa/15 MCAT only has an 11% chance to enter the UC's. A 4.0/15 only has a 45% chance; 95% if your Black/Hispanic.
A 1.0 and a 15 from a private school: 7% Asian/White, 98% if you are Black/Hipanic
I wonder if there are any Indians are Native Americans in Cali!
My chances as either for any circumstance all but sucked no matter what I was.

Something I found disturbing was the disparity in "your chances" between selecting "Stanford or East Coast quality private school" and "University of California," given all the stats were the same.

I'll be attending a UC but not because it was the only school I got into, but because of many reasons. Most of them being, the UC offered me lots of perks, while the privates did not.

I don't want to spark an argument over the importance of your undergrad school, but am I alone to think that it is weighted perhaps too strongly?

In any case, I realize it's a personal site, trying to make a point, so I won't worry about it. It is interesting to see that if I was a URM with a 1.5 BCP GPA and an MCAT score of 10 I would have a 20% chance of getting into a UC Medical School. I think the calculator programing needs to be corrected...

this site is a crock, mabey its to scare away "out of stateers" i put in a 4.0 bcpm and a 15 bio mcat and it still said i have less than a 50% chance to get in
