Has anyone recently used this book? Is it better than the ek book? I felt like i bombed the physics on the MCAT; and i think i really need to practice it more.

Yes, that is the correct NOVA physics book. I personally loved it, I thought it was much more comprehensive than any other book I tried (EK, Kaplan), and has tons of practice problems.
