ITE score 'needed' to pass Boards

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It's also important to note that the curve can shift in those in the 5 months between a CA3 ITE and the part 1 exam. So if you're at the middle to lower end of the curve it's possible to fall into the failing zone on the real exam.

Wait, how's that possible? Kindly explain please.

Entire three years of residency spent about 20 hours studying. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't a total dirtbag resident and I prepared for my cases but man did I struggle on the ite's. I also remember being absolutely hungover on the last one.
I took a job starting August 1st and spent the whole month of July studying my arse off. 8+ hours a day doing M5, pass machine, 3x ace exams. Few sections of hall.
Then I went beast mode on the boards. Absolute savagery.

You're my hero. But didn't your program have a minimum ITE percentile to be considered in good standing?

Yes. And I wasn't.

Edit to add:

I certainly was not a rock star resident like others. Well, clinically and technically I'd like to think I was but you work with other residents so rarely it's hard to compare. But I'm a likable guy and worked hard and didn't bitch nearly as much as others so I never had to worry about getting fired or anything.

My program had some moonlighting shifts available to people with good ITE scores that I wasn't eligible for. And I got shunned from my PD regularly. Still got some good LORs though.
