I'm not sure if im allowed to post this here or not, but please, im nervous and its too late to call a dentist or a doctor so if anyone has any advice on what I should do please help. I have Idiopathic Thrombcytopenic Purpura (ITP) and my platelet count is extremely low. Found out tonight the pains I had were from a wisdom tooth after I felt around. I know there's bleeding for days after it gets removed, and with such a low platelet count I don't know how I'm going to clot after getting it removed. I'm completely lost, I don't know what to do. Will the pains stop? Do I have to get it removed? I tried googling this but nothing came up. If this isn't supposed to be asked here, just please answer it anyways, im nervous. Thank you to anyone who helps.

Sounds like a sticky situation. Let me tell you the truth 4 U. Bleeding will be an issue. If you stand on your head for 15-20 minutes the bleeding will stop. After that just rinse with Listerine. That is my advice and the truth 4 U! Have you read up on the technique of drinking pigs blood to raise your platelet count? Check it out. Also unfortunately the pains will never stop.

You thought this forum would be better than going to an oral surgeon? I mean, you gotta get a consult first anyhow.

There are ways to manage patients with all types of disorders with relation to their dental care. Please consult with a local dentist/oral surgeon to go over the specific details of your case.
