One of the funniest products I saw a drug company give out was a hand lotion dispenser that was purple and had a big Brevibloc label on it. If you look closer at the dispenser, it had a disclaimer on it that stated that the lotion did not actually contain any esmolol/brevibloc. I can just imagine that ending up in a patient's hands and them reporting to their doctor that they have been using their antihypertensive lotion every day, "but it just doesn't seem to be helping."

Right, so no more drug rep pens and soap dispensers, but we still have the hundreds of drug commercials on TV everyday...because patients surely can't be influenced by what they see on TV!
