Criteria for Admission into Residency​

• Applications are accepted through ERAS only.
• A first attempt passing, for USMLE Step 1.
• A first attempt passing, for USMLE Step 2 CK a score of 240.

In order to maintain our standards of excellence here at Jacobi, applicants should score greater than 240 on Step 2 CK (all exams must be passed on the first attempt).
Applicants from osteopathic medical schools (DO) from the US can submit COMLEX scores but they will also need to submit USMLE step 2 CK scores for their file to be reviewed.

Both of these programs are FMG mills, so the pool they're primarily picking from includes many applicants who were able to prepare for the Step exams for years. Surely, plenty of these individuals are able to achieve 240+ (average or above-average) Step 2 scores.

This news is, of course, entirely irrelevant to US MDs and DOs, most of whom have no interest in training at an FMG mill.
