Can I transfer to a JD school if I do we'll in a DO school?

Accepted HMS!!!!!!I want to thank everyone who contributed to this thread. The information provided here has been a far greater resource in my path to achieving my dreams compared to the janitorial advising office at my undergrad university. To other underdogs like myself who only scored in the high 30s on their Admissions test, I am living proof that there is still hope! I'm glad I found this support thread before I made a decision I would have undoubtably regretted in going to a DO school. If anyone has any questions regarding their chances,or how many seats are still available, I've included a link to the admissions office (they are really nice and will be able to answer all your questions) http://hms.harvard.edu/content/custodial-services
Good luck. So excited!!! See you in the fall fellow HMSers!!
How are you guys studying for the JCAT? I've already taken it twice. Got a 27P then a 29Q. Decent, but my scores are really unbalanced. I do really well at the alphabet, but I always score low on spelling my name and tying my shoes. Pls help.

If a janitor came across this thread, I don't know if they'll be laughing. I admit I found this thread funny at first, but now I think it's a bit mean.

Srs, Im a part time janitor. NBD
That's the point! You're a part time janitor, you won't be doing this for the rest of your life. The difference is that you have a shot at something big. Not everyone gets that and it's your job to tread carefully. Again, I direct this at myself too but... "with great power comes great responsibility."
I would post a picture of the Joker saying, "Why so serious?" but I'm afraid I might offend some clowns, and clowns are scary, but not hot scary like the gingers.
/run-on sentences are fun.
My dad is a janitor.....😳
it is not that funny when you are on the other side.....he did not have opportunities and did the best he could....he works hard and we got by....
I understand the joke but sometimes you have to think there are some people that are janitors and they are people too....
I wouldn't categorize someone who quotes a Tobey McGuire movie as serious.
Actually that quote was used way before that awful movie came around.
Yea whatever. The point is that your post is very hypocritical in that saying applying to medical school is "something big" as if anyone who is a janitor hates their life. If you're letting your profession define who you are as a person, doctor or janitor; it makes you a tool.
If medicine is not something big, then why do we find this thread so funny? I'm not being hypocritical. I was concerned at myself for finding this funny.
And I am sure there is a way to have this discussion without a need for attacking me. I am not looking for a fight.
For everyone out there who hates me for spoiling everything, here's what I saw when I came to this thread:
"DO vs Janitor???.... 😆![]()

🤣 🤣"
Am I wrong to be concerned with this picture? I wasn't looking down on anyone. I even admitted to laughing at it myself and feeling bad about it afterwards. Anyway, I regret sharing my thoughts and I won't be posting on this thread anymore. Have to move on.
You've got it backwards.
The OP is describing how cool being a janitor is. You know... with the access to closets and keys. The other "career" he's stuck between is being a DO. You know... a glorified chiropractor who's biggest accomplishment is being able to crack joints while being a half a million dollars in debt. Heck... DOs don't even get to play with chemicals, unlike janitors. Playing with chemicals is the nurse's job!
Damn it... should have taken the JCAT.
See... the real problem that you have is fear. Fear that you're missing the joke. We all know that fear leads to hate... hate leads to anger and anger leads to... suuuffffeeeering.

I was a janitor for a little while, I don't care, and I doubt any of my old coworkers would either.
The point of this thread isn't to put down janitors, it's mocking the constant barrage of DO vs ???? Threads. 'Should I go NP or DO?' 'PA or DO?', it's also also poking fun at the people that actually make those comparisons at all.
Don't get so offended.
I say neither, you should instead open a trepanation clinic.
I just soiled myself.CPR training as a janitor...

I've done a lot of dirty jobs...but I would go JD over DO any day...

I actually have a question. I know OJ (Office Janitor) schools are getting more competitive to get into, but does anyone know how CJ (Custodian Janitors) schools are? I just know that the CJ schools are more "holistic" in their approaches but they also HIGHLY recommend a letter of recommendation from a CUSTODIAN Janitor.
I don't mean to start another OJ vs CJ thread, but I was wondering if anyone could perhaps give some insight into this. I know that they learn the SAME things in their curriculum aside from custodial arts in CJ schools and that 98% of custodian janitors end up doing essentially the same thing office janitors do.
Custodian (CJ) schools are slightly more forgiving with cGPA/jGPA/JCAT scores so I was thinking of maybe applying to Office Janitor and Custodian Janitor schools with the CJ ones for backup.
I am just having some issues finding CJs to shadow. I don't live in a huge CJ-friendly area, but I am hoping to just do some walk-ins into their office and tell them that I plan to apply to CJ schools.
