While I approve of JetPropPilots willingess to exterminate that horrible species Trollus Hominus, I am concerned that he needs to update his weaponry. While his use of the polymer framed Glock is certainly state of the art, he continues to use a 30-06 for longer range shots. Just as anesthesia has moved to away from older anesthesia such as Cylclopropane so has the military moved on from the 30-06. While I have much appreciation for the 1903 Springfield and the vaunted M-1, there are more modern approaches.
I would first recommend JP consider the 7.62 mm. This offers ballistic advantages over the 30-06. This is the current Army weapon as demonstrated by the M-24. This is an excellent weapon, capable of taking care of trolls to 1000m.

This also has capability of upgrading to the .300 win mag for really reaching out and touching someone.
If there is a desire to go a little more old school the the M-21(renamed the m25) continues to be used by special forces and offers the advantage of semi-automatic fire for multiple trolls:

Finally for that long range troll (or trolls that you have taken an exceptional dislike to) consider the Barrett M82A1. With confirmed kills in excess of 2000m and the ability to shoot through armored personell carriers (and Chevy Suburbans) this weapon will definitely take care of any troll.

Finally while I have respect for JetProps anesthesia skills, I believe that he makes poor choice in his shot selection. He uses head shots exclusively. Head shots are generally not recommended. Instead the chest has a higher hit probability. We would hate to have a Troll get away because of poor shot selection. I would have JetProp review the US Army sniper manual:

I thank JetProp for his service and wish him good hunting.
