Hello,

Anyone know if it is a good idea to get LORs from your place of employment? I have been a paramedic for five years, at a private ambulance company. The thing is my previous manager left 2 weeks ago. I don't see how any new person would write a good letter seing is that I don't know him at all. 😕

I think this is a great idea!!! I myself got a letter from my old place of employment, but my previous employer is a DO so it did double duty. Anyways, I really think having someone say that you are responsible and trustworthy will make a bigger impact then someone just saying you are worthy of going to med school. If you have your bosses number just ask and he will probably do it.

Get the one who left to write you a LOR and then have him sign it, then get the new guy to approve it and have him sign it in addition or in place of the former manager is applicable.
