The job market isn't the best in Boston. It is a little better if you have residency because most of the major hospitals only hire you if you are residency trained. I know a few new grads that are still having a hard time finding jobs in/near the city in retail and hospital. There are 3 pharm schools in Mass (MCP-Boston, MCP-Worcester, and Northeastern) with a 4th slated to open soon (Western New England). It is overall a pretty saturated state, with many of those needing jobs moving to NH, Vermont, or Maine.

Living in/around Boston is very expensive, plus the commute can be bad.

i will be graduating next year...

got an offer from the cvs that i have been working as a tech...i think if you were working there before, it is easier to land a job...

how is it in outside of boston, 30-50miles away, i dont mind driving because i myself live in the surburbs...idk if you are familiar with the location....

where/what is the 4th school opening called?

If you already have an offer than there is nothing to worry about. Your status still says "pre pharm" so I wasn't sure.

It really depends on which way you would be commuting and where you will be living. I hear the South shore is the worst. Living in the burbs is much more affordable.

The new pharm school is Western New England University in Springfield.

Due west sounds bad, Worcester is about 40 miles west of Boston and a large pharmacy school is located there. Also the New England states are a lot smaller than you can probably conceptualize from where you are, so you have to take into account that there are grads from neighboring states crossing state lines. I know quite a few URI or UConn grads that work in MA and some do not even live in the state.

On the other hand there are a lot of CVS stores, so if that is your current employer that would work in your favor.

Lots of old folks are retiring to the Berkshires but I don't know how that works out in terms of Rxs needed there.
