Wow, there has been an underwhelming amount of attention to the upcoming June 27th release. What happened to all my fellow May 25th MCATers?

Anyways, 6 days to go!

Just out of curiousity, was the May 25th MCAT similar to the June 15th?? I want to see the scores of those that took the Monster that was May 31st..Something tells me the curve is going to be insane.

I just realized Die Hard 4 comes out on the same day as our MCAT scores. It'll be a good day regardless!

HistrosKaran, the May 25th test wasn't too bad. The physics was really tough and I think I did the worst on that. Verbal was really straightforward and biology was a bit too easy.

I think the curve will be fairly unforgiving if anything.

Anyways, I think I at least made a 30. If I made anything below that, I'll be sad. I want a 35+.

midn: That sounds like the exact breakdown of the June 15th MCAT as well! Killer PS (mostly the physics part of it), relatively straightforward VR, and a BS section that seemed a bit too easy (no molecular bio or genetics - pretty much all physio). So, it'll be interesting how people did on those sections based on their impressions of them from the May 25th test. Those of us who got the similar form of June 15th will be watching keenly.... I hope you got 35+!

also anxiously waiting! what the heck happened to the may 16th people?? i want to know how they did because their mcat seemed different in terms of which section was hard...hang in there, just a few more days!🙂

May 16th?? Old news, man. 😀 It seems like I've had my scores for forever, even though it's only been a week. Check the official score thread for the news.

worried about this MCAT...

i took it in august 2005, it was the 6 hour paper version...

PS was easy, i left the last 6-7 questions blank and still managed an 11, BS was easy, or so i thought, i got an 8, and VR was kinda hard, but i was pleased to get an 8 there as well...total 27

but this CBT was wierd.

PS and BS were both quite difficult...but like most of you, i thougth VR was pretty simple...

does anyone know if the CBTs are harder than old paper versions to make up for their brevity???

Sounds like the May 25th was very similar to the June 15th test. I actually thought the BS on the 15th wasn't that straight foward though...I had two passages which were pretty difficult to grasp...but overall def. not that bad

It's killing me that they make us wait 33 days. I'm scared that I'll be getting my money back from Kaplan. At least I'll have beer money to drown my sorrows.

Well, I didn't have the cilia passage or whatever that sonic the hedgehog passage was in my BS section on 6/15....

You know, since AAMC never releases their curving schemes, why worry about it? People who thought the test was super hard and did well may have just been really lucky and vice versa.

By unforgiving, I meant it's probably just going to be a normal curve (i.e. weighted towards 8's as usual).

I'm waiting as well! I'm in a time zone opposite to EST, so I'm afraid I'm going to be up all night obsessively hitting refresh. Gah.

It doesn't bode well for me that I'm nervous about verbal, seeing as most of you here thought it was straightforward! 🙁

Oh well, all we can do now is wait and see.

i'm getting ansty. this is ridiculous. 5/25 was my first time taking the mcats. as we get closer to the 27th, i feel tense, worried, scared...i wasn't like this during the better half of the (almost)month after the exam. it's looming. you guys ever felt like this? i've held my composure long enough.

i got up at 6:30am this morning. its Saturday. i cant stand this. I feel like the PS will be curved more forgivingly, but the VR and BS will be graded pretty harshly.

any predictions as to whether the curve will be similar to the AAMC practices, or more lenient/harsh?

I finally had my first MCAT-related dream. It just involved me looking up my scores online and seeing that the scores would now be released on June 20th rather than June 27th. I still didn't have anything listed and I was a bit confused since I already knew June 20th had passed.

4 more days folks...

My first one was last night and involved my pre-med advisor calling me into his office and breaking the bad news to me. My scores involved a 12, 9, and a 5. I was very devastated, but then the weird thing was that he took me out to get drunk. Very weird but only 3 days left!

Yea, I noticed too that there was very very little said about may 25- as compared to may 16 or may 31, etc.

You know, something tells me that since AAMC delayed may 16, they will probably release this earlier!? some sort of penitence:laugh:

And another thing that I noticed was a lot of people found PS tough, but mebbe some other forms had a straightforward PS.

Hmm, isnt it always a normal curve? With most of the test takers scoring the middle score? You probably mean that the number of questions one had to answer would be unforgiving, to get say a good score?

Cause wat I understand from this normal crap is that they fit all takers into a bell curve with most getting the mean score, and decreasing on either side of it, in increasing amount of qns answered right( again depending on the difficulty of passages/qns.)

i had my score dream about a week ago. i'm most worried about verbal, but my score in my dream was an 8-41-8...which in my dream, added up to a total of 55.

i remember thinking, "hmm 55, not bad, considering my practice score averaged around a 35, but what's with those 8's????"

gah. gah. gah.

Does anyone have an idea of what time to expect the score release? I know the website says after 5 pm, but does this usually hold true? Thanks.

Looks like you do a lot of mathematics in your dreams.. hehe- frankly I'm a deep sleeper, so MCAT doesnt figure that much in my sleep.

But I have spent every living second of the last one week, thinking of the damage I did to my PS and VR😱

Ok I officially antsy cant do anything else phase. I was fine all month, didnt really think about it at all, but now I cant stop. I signed up for the July 24th exam just in case but I havent been able to study at all, I took all the books off my shelf last week but have yet to open them. Here is to a very fast next 2 days so i don't lose my sanity!!

So I'm not the only one doing this then? I figure, hey it's been thirty days, maybe they got the date wrong, but I don't think so. I've even had to start calling the test the m (pronounced emay) gata because I can't stand talking about it anymore, but still, I keep checking that website and writing too much on sdn.

I joined just because of this thread I used to keep checking to see if they were up but now I will wait to see when someone posts here and tells us the scores are up! Do they ever come up early? 🙁

Hmm, I just got rejected for all the scholarships in my college. This does not bode well...

In retrospect, I do recall writing an extremely sarcastic essay.

That probably did it.

OK I am officially freaking out about the wait already. I was fine for the first half of the month too, but now that it is so close I am extremely anxious. My life is going to change come Wednesday. Up until now I have been in limbo since the MCAT. But once the score is in I am either going to rush to submit my AMCAS or consider plan B which likely includes waiting another year. I am not going to retake it this year if I am unhappy with my score.

MUST.GET.SCORE.ALREADY. . .

my friend had a dream that I got a 41....not gonna happen.

I think that the 16th got their scores on the 15th, but the people from the 11th got their scores a little late on the 14th, and those are the scores you see. I could definitely be wrong though, hopefully we get them early, but I doubt it.

Will we receive email notification once our scores are up? Or do we check online? (And should I be checking the AMCAS MCAT THx website or some other site?) Thanks!

(Also what is with all the crazy high scores from the May 16th exam? Not that I'm hating or anything but isn't the national average a 26? )

You will not receive an email, they just appear when you log in to THx..Best bet is just keep checking here, you will know when they are up 🙂 As for the high scores, it is simply biased reporting..Those who score <28 rarely post, whereas those who score >30 almost always post.

I figured as much. (Especially when one examines the number of people viewing these threads versus the number of people posting). Well, I'll be sure and post my scores for all those folks out there who are not supreme masters of the art of standardized tests! Unless it's a 25. Then you get nothing!

We're down to 24 hours. Also, I'd like to point out that the score release on the pdf file says it is AFTER 5PM EST. I think this is largely to release the scores and run out of the office before upset people start calling.

I was under the impression that scores started to be released shortly after midnight (based on the other Score Release threads). Is that completely incorrect?

As for the score averages:

Everybody taking the test: 24
All applicants: 27
All matriculants: 30


The scores reported here will be higher than expected because even with the anonymity of the internet, most will not post their scores unless its >30.

Someone has to be awake to release the scores 🙂. They do it during regular business hours (8/9 am - 5 pm EST).
