I am a junior. My spring semester grades won't be submitted by professors until late May, making the transcripts not available until mid June. Should I go ahead and submit my application on May 28th using an earlier transcript showing the spring classes I am taking (with no grades), or wait until June to submit the later transcript with the spring grades? Conflicting info..."submitting in late May/early June is critical" vs "Juniors should have 6 semester of grades on their transacript".

I am a junior with a 4.0 GPA and 523 MCAT, on track to preserve the 4.0 this semester. Will you have 90 completed semester hours on your transcript if you submit an earlier transcript? Many schools require this on an application.
Will your school send out a transcript when a term is still in session? Some will not. Call the Registrar's office to find out.
How many prerequisite classes are you taking now? It may not look favorable to avoid including those grades if there are a number of them. It might be assumed you aren't doing well and wish to obscure that fact.

Thanks Catalystik. I will have 5 semesters under my belt on my current "early" transcript, which the Registrar can send out, and it covers all my prereqs (except for one bio lab). But, based on the 90 semester hour rule, looks like I'll have to wait. Drats! I had worked really hard to get all my ducks in a row to submit all in late May to get everything processed to the medical schools without delay.

July is not "late."
This^^^^. With your stats, you are worrying about NOTHING!!!! You will be verified by early August and will be off to the races! Congratulations, and good luck!!

Submission in the first possible hour being critical is largely a SDN myth that derives from the fact that marginal applicants submitting after Labor Day do have trouble breaking through. You, however, will not be a marginal applicant with a 4.0/523. You also will not be submitting after Labor Day if your transcript is ready in mid June.

You not only want the 90 credits. More importantly, you want to show that you are not masking bad grades by failing to show your latest semester. This is not a close call, and submitting less than a month after the earliest possible submission date will not handicap you at all.

Thanks KnightDoc, makes total sense as my spring grades will not handicap me, but rather will show consistency. Thanks everyone for your help. I'll gently bug my profs to get grades in earlier rather than later...

UPDATE: It all worked out. After informing my profs of the situation (and gentle nudge reminders last week), all grades were in and I submitted my transcript on May 16th via parchment, which should be "received" by AMCAS soon. Thus, for any juniors facing the same questions, I think being up front and honest with your professors (and getting final projects in ASAP) really helped me. Hope this helps!
