So this should be my last semester of retakes and I'm planning on retaking a sociology course at a different university than I originally took it at. I'm assuming it will be fine, but it does have a slightly different name and I just wanted to get y'alls opinion.

Original Class
SOCI 3000 - Sociology of Marriage and Family
Interpersonal dynamics of marriage and family life; role and influence of the family as both a powerful primary group and as a social institution in society; current status of families in the United States plus cross-cultural and historical patterns.

Retake Class:
SOCI 3331 - Sociology of Family
Changing family life styles, mate roles, parent-child relationships, adoption, abortion, population control, technical-industrial impact on American family unit.

I would say it's close enough. Don't trust me though, I'm not a doctor. 😛

Looks pretty darn close. I'd certainly call AACOMAS to verify.

Just FYI through my experience from talking to AACOMAS this cycle, the AACOMAS reps don't even bother to look at the course descriptions if the course titles are close. I used to think they had some magic book of transferrable/similar courses, but it's actually much less scientific than that.

They answered my email really fast. Looks like I'm good to go. Their response is below.

"If the content of the two courses are the same or very similar and the credit hours of SOCI 3331 is equal or greater than those of SOCI 3000 then you can have the most recent course replace the older course. If doesn't matter if they were taken at different institutions."
