Just can't pull the trigger
Started by red10
Secondaries are not that big of a deal. Do the best you can, submit it, and don't look back.
Is anyone else as nervous about submitting secondaries as I am? I have one basically ready to go and part of me is like "get it over with" and the other part fears that 10 minutes after submitting I'll realize I made a glaring grammatical error.
Just submit it. You're gonna get tons more, and it wil drive you nuts if you keep going back and forth about submitting or not.

I do the same. I walk back and forth in my room all tensed up and nervous whether I should submit or not.
I eventually don't and review the essays for like 3 days and get tired of looking at the same thing eveyday and then I feel like WTH and submit it..

I'm not applying this year, but I do this exact same thing with any other important applications. I almost have to close my eyes to hit the "submit" button or drop it in the mail.
...yeah, I'm weird.

Yeah I do that....I recently mailed out a secondary and just after mailing it I started wondering if I put the AMCAS ID and whether I filled out every question....
And there are those of us of course who still can't pull the trigger on the primary...
One more day can't make a difference, I keep telling myself, EVERY DAY.
I finally submitted mine once I stopped finding errors in my personal statement and started getting sick of reading the same thing over and over and over
You realize doctors make life-and-death decisions on a daily basis right? How are you going to handle that if you can't handle this?Is anyone else as nervous about submitting secondaries as I am? Suck it up and click the button (or don't), but don't whine about it.
in the end, all you can do is hope for the best......omg its so nerve-wrackingly scarrry, stupid adcoms
i'm like the opposite. it's wayy too easy for me to fill it out, write the essays, read it over twice and then submit. then i convince myself once submitted that it's too late to worry about any possible (and likely) mistakes because it is already submitted.
maybe i subconciously sabotage myself.

I am kinda like that. I just do my best and submit when I apply anywhere. I don't over analyze to the point where I don't get anything done. It would just waste time IMO. Then again, I am not a hardcore perfectionist.
I told my bf I was having a hard to submitting and he put his hand over mine and counted to 3 and we clicked together. He then told me he never wanted to have to do that again and to suck it up. haha
haha now thats support and touch love all rolled into one.

cranky cranky...
I actually handle myself pretty well when its an emergency or it involves someone else's care. A kid started having a seizure in a library I was at and I was calm and collected getting him help. I'm just OCD about my writing is all.

I'm not cranky, I always tell people to suck it up and stop whining -random people on the street, patients, little kids, babies, anybody really.

again, its more about letting go of my writing not that I'm unable to handle pressure
Wow, I came in here thinking an SDNer was finally going to kill himself.
no such luck
