has anyone gotten in to pharmacy school with a pretty low gpa, and with not enough pharmacy experience(but tons of other jobs and etc.). well cuz that's wehre i'm at right now. just want to know what i should do or say to improve on my personal statement( even if most schools jsut look at teh gpa FIRST and THEN if qualified look at the other stuff). i haven't had much luck finidng pharm tech jobs. i've onl worked for 3 months as a pharm tech then had to quit due to ride issues.

so just wondering 🙂

Your decision for pharmacy school seems a little random. No other interests? Pharm school students tend to be somewhat nerdy overachievers or come from a strong financial background with a parental expectation for success.

Lowest I've heard is 2.8 for what it's worth. Older guy, basketball coach at a highschool and did really well on the pcat.

3.27 <---- Me.

Sometimes they realize that GPA is essentially the degree to which people jump through hoops and does not correlate with potential. Like Einstein. He sucked at school. I got one of the highest interview scores in my class, however, so my ability to BS may have saved me. My PCAT was also above average, as well as my during-interview writing sample. You know.......now that I think about it.....I got into pharmacy school based on about 6 hours of work vs. 4 entire semesters of getting a high GPA.

I rule.

why becoming a pharmacist is probably the most crucial part of whole process for some schools. Try to do some volunteering at a local hospital.
there is a post in this forum that shows a GPA poll that has been taken from about 300 accepted students. the poll shows a little over 7% were accepted with GPAs lower than 2.8.
So don't give up hope!
try to write your p-statement honestly and explain why you had a low GPA. If it is reasonable it will help alot! Based on my reaserch and talking to some school's representatives, the schools look on many factors.
Do your research!
