I just got and scheduled a temple interview for THIS WEEK! short notice but I'm ready to jump in the car and start driving! Any advice or trips or secrets that aren't revealed in the interview feedback that you can suggest about the temple interview please? They're closed otherwise I would call right now but I want to plan arrangements and driving stuff tonight since my planning time is limited!

1) Iss the address we go to: 3223 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140?

2)What the best place to park at during the day for the interview? Do they pay for your parking?

3) Did any of you not take that update form? I've been sending them updates on my own and sent one recently so I don't have anything to add.

4) How long did Temple take to tell you if you got in or not? How many seats are left now/chances of getting in?

howd you receive your interview? snail mail?

didnt interview there, but congrats on the interview. I know you have wanted one for a while 👍

It sounds about right. If you drive down north Broad street, you will see the school of dentistry on the right, right after an intersection, after you pass the main campus.

I might be wrong, but I think there's a parking structure right across from the school. No, I don't think they pay for you parking.

I didn't take the update form. You just need to fill out one paper (2 questions) basic information before you go there.
4) How long did Temple take to tell you if you got in or not? How many seats are left now/chances of getting in?

It depends. They told us 3 weeks.
Congrats on your interview. Temple is an awesome school, and you will like Brain. He is totally awesome.

First off, Congrats...

1) thats the address i believe, just look it up in case

2) if you received the interview packet in the mail, they tell you that you can park for 10$, but i took the subway from market square, so i didnt deal with parking.

3) i have no idea what a update form is, sooo my answer to your question would be 3 or 4ish. I Just brought paper, no pen and my A game.

4) Brian is really good at getting back to your emails and what not, so i found out a week after my interview with a pretty short and sweet email saying "accepted"

And for general tips: be talkative, communicate well, tell them you smoke bud, and finally just be yourself

...but prolly leave out the bud part

temple does a group interview...about 4 people with one interviewer... interviewer asks questions and randomly asks members of the group to answer...basic questions...why dentistry, why temple, leadership experience, extracurricular...etc... i would check out the interview feedback for more specifics

Word. They asked like the exact questions that the feedback forms said they were going to.

mmmm....brains....

anyone else gonna be in philly this week for temple interview?

in response to above posts:
1) Awww THANK YOU!! I am really getting more excited for the interview and appreciate the encouragement. I got the letter via snail mail yesterday and called up then. I took the next free day even though it's burning a huge hole in my wallet with such last minute travel plans to a big city! yikes the application expenses really never do stop! I was almsot gonna drive straight there but I figure the $$$ on the hotel room is worth it to get some sleep and go fresh instead of off of a 3 hr car trip.

2) That's awesome that some of you found out so fast! I hope I find out soon too and did any of you tell him you needed to know sooner due to pending decisions at other schools or anything like that? I wonder if they will speed it up then and give you an answer faster.

3) Also, I was reading the interview feedback the group interview seems interesting. I guess it can be good or bad and it seems like it's not a discussion but instead you just take turns answering depending on who the interviewer addresses?

Are you still holding out for Temple?
Probably not... I'd go to the interview though assuming I don't get into UNLV in a couple weeks (PLEASE OH PLEASE LET ME GET INTO UNLV)

anyone have any parking suggestions? the parking fee of the hotel is like $30. shoudln't there be garages on the street where you can do daily parking for less than $30 a night?

Try and find a parking lot along the broad st. line and then just take it up to the school, definitely the easiest route to take. Good luck!

i think i'm just gonna park at the hotel and get the 24 hr $30 rate and then subway it in the morning to the school. that way I don't have to deal with traffic and finding parking all over again for the school. I just gotta figure out the subway/trolly/bus system now 🙂

Well, if I get into UNLV I'm turning it down so hopefully there are other people like me (and I imagine that there are being as late into the cycle as we are) who don't want to go there to so that your chances increase with respect to getting in. I'm rooting for you airsimon!!!

hey yA same with me I got an interview this week so maybe i'll be there with ya too!!!

be very careful with this- make sure you have the right subway/train...... since i'm not from the east coast i ended up taking the train and going to temple undergrad...temple dental is different. I looked like a chicken with its head cut off asking people where the dental school was. Running around temple undergrad in heels in no fun. I ended up having to haul a$$ and taking a taxi down to the dental school.

temple dental school is located at the corner of broad and alleghany (sp?)...there is a subway that gets off right in front of the dental school. good luck!

Yeah just get on the Braod St. line, but I think I remeber the alleghany (sp?) stop was a local train, so make sure to get a local not an express.
