just got spring grades, email or snail mail for updates?

i just got my spring grades and want to update the two schools that I'm on waitlists for. I would usually send a snail mail update but given that May 15 is two days away should I opt for speed and update the schools with emails? What do you all think?

I'd say email, but that's not official is it? Do they need an official transcript for updates? I don't see any reason for snail mail updates this late in the game anyway.
