Ok guys I know we need 2 semesters of biology... Does that mean bio 1 & 2?? I took bio 1 but never bio 2... I also took a&p 1&2 got B's in both and I took micro and got an A....

1. Nursing school prereqs aren't the same as med school prereqs. A&P and micro sound like typical prenursing classes that aren't premed classes.

2. "Bio 100" is not useful info. Different schools use different names/numbers/descriptions. "Bio 100" could be a creationism class for all we know.

3. Find the premed advising page for the school where you took bio and find out if that bio is the premed bio.

4. Identify the premed course series at the school you're attending now.

5. Take and ace the premed courses, even if you already took the nursing equivalent, because MCAT and because med school. For best results also take upper div science such as biochem.

6. Your pre-nursing science grades count as science for med school GPA calculations, regardless of their content.

Bets of luck to you.

I had all my science pre-req at a CC, so don't lose hope. I agree it is safest to take real bio 1 and 2, but I think some schools would be willing to substitute for one of the classes you have taken. You would have to do the leg work of calling every school you're interested to see.

I think ill take bio 2 just to be safe! Ill make sure I get an A ;-)

You'll want to do some research on community college coursework. Controversial subject.

Again, if you don't take the course that prepares you for the MCAT, then you won't have learned the content on the MCAT.

Pretty sure I'm going to stop breaking it down for folks, over and over and over. Pretty clear I'm wasting my time.

Just something to consider, at my schools there are 3 BIO classes in the intro sequence. 1 that deals with evolution and ecology, 1 that is cellular and molecular biology and the last is cellular and organ physiology. Any 2 of the 3 satisfy the requirement, but I think it is recommended to take the last 2(in the case you only take 2 and 3). The point is that it probably varies from school to school.

I plan on looking more into it because I don't want to waste my time.... I have only been on this site for like a week but have read soo much! So I am going to contact the schools in plan on applying to and see what they think I should do

Believe it or not, certain schools count anatomy and physiology as a bio requisite but to cover your behind for the mcat, I suggest that you take bio 2. It's only going to help you. To answer your question, it depends on each specific school. Look up their website and you'll see what they require.
