Hey everyone,

Long time lurker here. Just completed my DAT last week and still am not sure about how many schools I should apply to in order to be safe. I'm also super worried about my GC score - will I get eliminated out of many schools because of this? Or is it the AA that matters?
Anyways, I've listed my stats below. I am thinking of applying to about ten schools (at the moment, I'm thinking Buffalo, Boston, Detroit Mercy, NYU, SUNY, Case, Howard, not sure where else..). Should I bump that up to twenty? I would really appreciate the input because I am quite confused at the moment about where I stand in terms of competitiveness.

Extracurrics: +100 each of Volunteering, Shadowing, and Working hours (worked during most of my undergrad). Also have some bio research. Good LORs (Professors that know me well)..

Here are my DAT scores:

GC - 18
OC - 21
BIO - 24
QR - 21
PAT - 20
RC - 22
AA - 21
TS - 21

GPA - 3.59
sGPA - 3.56

Date of E-submission: June 19

Hey, no need to worry. Your general chemistry looks great! It is above a 17. Also general chemistry is not weighted as much as biology, so that is great news!

All your other scores are above 20. I doubt that an 18 would even raise an eyebrow from the interviewers or admission committee. Stick with those scores and I'm sure you'll be fine.

I appreciate the feedback. I'm quite surprised/happy with my BIO score but yeah my GC score is a bit of a downer. I hope I'm still competitive. Any advice on how many schools I should apply to?

What materials did you use for the QR portion? That's where I am starting to get a tad anxious :/

Yes you are still competitive. I also got an 18 in my gen chem section and still got a good amount of interviews. Hmmm I think I applied to about 20. Where are you from? Is money a factor?

Good to go you pick and chose 10 schools should be enough GL!

For QR all I did was briefly go over the Kaplan Blue Book information/questions on the QR section. This took like one day. And then I did Math Destroyer tests 1-10 (averaging about 26-30 questions correct each time - timed 45 min.). I made sure I memorized all of the formulas in Kap as well as Math Destroyer. I ended up doing much better than expected..keep in mind the last math class I took was about three years ago. Math destroyer is an AWESOME resource, use it!

I am Canadian, I understand this sort of puts me at a disadvantage but this is why I am applying to private schools mostly. Money is not a factor, I'm willing to invest as much as needed for this cycle.

Thank you!
