I saw this one and it's great! Anyone know of any other journals NOT specific to one school? (as in, no UPenn Undergradute Research journal)

Actually, it's known now as Penn Science =)

As far as I know, it's the only "undergraduate only" research journal in active publication (2 issues, wahoo). But I may be wrong - if you know of any others, do tell.

Good question - I don't know.

Originally, the intent was to start at Penn and expand coverage to include Swarthmore, Drexel, Temple, USP, Bryn Mawr, Rugters, etc (area colleges)

But now that the name is "Penn Science" and most of the funding is from Penn, I'm not sure.

I guess with the name issue, we can always say that Penn stands for "Pennsylvania the state" instead of "Pennsylvania the university".

Not too sure about the funding issue though. Printers can get pretty expensive =)

Edit: If you're interested, the website is http://www.pennscience.org

i checked out the pennscience and it was great too! i submitted some stuff to it..

know of any others like this!? 🙂

My first undergraduate research project focused on the effects of virtual reality immersion on postural stability in heathly subjects (yeah, I managed to find college students who wanted to play video games for 90 minutes). Just to keep from leaving this sounding rediculous, the bigger purpose is to identify the methods through which affordable hardware can be implemented in balance rehabilitation techniques for children diagnosed with Down Syndrome.

It was rough finding a journal to submit to, as my school doesn't have an independent journal. I reached out to this journal and found out they're online only, so they accept submissions year-round. As long as you have a manuscript and research mentor, the process is fairly painless. I'm submitting mine this semester, I'll let you know how it goes!

How about you don't, since this thread is 8 years old?

The thread is, but it was the first to pop up when I searched SDN for undergrad journals. I figured the subject matter was still relevant, so I'd throw my 2 cents in.

Funny image, though!
