I just went through all of gen chem in the kaplan blue book and i thouhgt it was pretty basic. I have destroyer and i plan on starting the Qs, however i wanted to kno if you guys think that the kaplan blue book is sufficient in terms of reading material. I just flipped through destroyer at a glance and it seemed to be just a bunch of practice problems. What would you guys recommend for Gchem? KBB enough? or should i try an outside source?

Thanks in Advance

Like someone said before, the best way to guarantee you know the topic is to use your genchem book. I read the Kaplan for a good refresher, then I go through all of the walkthrough problems in my gen chem book for a section, then I do a few of the easier problems (ones that don't require a calculator, they can only ask so much) and make sure I understand how to set them up and whatnot. Other than that, all you can do is practice tests and then look up the ones you got wrong. Just keep in mind books like kaplan are REVIEW books, and they aren't intended to cover the entire realm of questions

I thought the Kaplan BB covered just about everything I needed to know. I didn't find the Gchem questions on the DAT to be particularly tricky, and not nearly detailed enough to need my textbook.

The real way you should be learning with Kaplan is doing the practice problems and then reading the answers, and just using the book as a review. The question explanations go much further into detail on the particular subjects and will give you everything you could need. Do enough and you'll cover every possible questions type. Good luck!
