So ive been bored and decided to start looking at the pat section of the dat. I was just curious as to for the people who used kap bb and took the real dat what they thought. Was it easier? Harder? Or equal in difficulty.
Thanks

there is almost no comparison. From what I remember, the BB was alot easier than the real PAT.

Wellllllllllll... Maybe the hole punching was somewhat the same, everything else wasn't. Angel ranking on BB is a joke, you can put those things 10 feet away from my eyes and I'll still be able to rank them correctly. On the real PAT.... shoooo, you need a protractor to get those right hahaha

Yea thats what I was thinking but I was hoping that I had thought wrong haha.

To me the cube counting, angle ranking, hole punching are all easy sections its just the TFE, pass through the object. The folding wasnt too bad.

I took the PAT of the practice section in the Kap BB and got an 18 boarderline 19 with no knowledge except briefly reading the introduction haha.
Ended up getting 3 wrong on the Angles, and Hole punch, like 4 wrong on the folding, like 6-7 on the pass through and I think I got like 10 wrong on the TFE lol.

What books do you think I can get at like a barnes and noble that I can look over in the store so I dont have to buy it that are equal/harder in comparison to the DAT. I looked for crack PAT but its looking like tis only an online program

Unfortunately, good PAT resources are lacking in the market today. The ONLY resource that I am aware of is crack dat pat..... Master crack PAT, and I truly believe you'll be satisfied with your score.

And you cant get that at a barnes and noble right? 🙁

kaplan's book was too easy and the problems were too obvious

get the crack the pat program.

Kaplan is good to start with. Gets you familiar with the types of questions and builds your confidence. It is easier than the real PAT though.

Crack the DAT PAT is the best for mastering the real PAT. Although I think it is a little easier than the real PAT also.

just ordered the royal flush version of crack pat lol

Anyone knwo if I reformat my computer after installing it can I install it again on the same computer?

they say it is impossible to install again. however, when i migrated to windows 7 from windows xp on the same computer i didnt have any problems, but i feel like some fluke must have happened.

feel free to roll the dice on this one, but i'd suggest following their advice and installing it on a computer that you arent planning on reformatting before taking your test

sent them an email, wont be installing until I get a confirmation on if I can reinstall and ill be saving that email lol.
but ive seen people post on here situations where something happened to their computer and they dont know how to get their crack pat program to work ;\

The Kaplan blue book is a bit easier except for angle rankings, in which case it is MUCH easier than the real PAT. I only used the Kaplan BB with TopScore for PAT and got a 21 on it but you can do even better with better materials. Kaplan BB will not let you reach your full potential in the PAT section.

Kaplan was a good introduction to the PAT section in my opinion. All of the covered sections were easier in difficulty of the real DAT except for the angles.

I can still recall how insanely difficult the angles were on the real DAT. I am almost certain that was the section that hurt my overall Perceptual Ability score. The angles were pointed in various directions which made it even harder to rank them. In this regard, the Kaplan angle practice is a joke - no where near similar in difficulty.

In general, I can recommend Kaplan for merely as an introduction to preparing for the DAT. I studied with it and did alright, but I would have approached my studying differently if I had to do it again by using more detailed and comparable material and practice tests - once again in increasing difficulty.

Prepare a schedule. Incorporate several different study materials with increasing difficulty. Once you're ready, focus on practice tests.

Best of luck! 👍
