Hi all,

I have my exam in a month. To date I have completed 50% of UW and my average percentage is in the 40's.
Here's my predicament. I studied the Kaplan books last year and watched all the tapes, then moved on to Goljan rapid review. Ive also gone through FA once/ twice for some bits. Its frustrating to be scoring so low. I don't like FA, and I think I am lacking i the basic principles ( physio is one of the places I weak in ). In the past, Ive read couple of sections of medessentials. So I was thinking of picking up this book again? Would love to know what other think of this book.

Goodluck all

I am using Medessentials, it certainly has more information than FA including some low yield material not found in FA. I am scoring in the mid 60s using that.

I just got MedEssentials. It's actually pretty decent. About the same thickness and it is similar info-wise to First Aid, but the material is presented in tabular format. First Aid is more vignette styled. Edit: both have color pathology pics. You might want to look at it before you buy it. I got mine at Barnes & Noble. In my opinion, I would say though that it is maybe not a good use of time to use both First Aid and MedEssentials if you don't want to go book crazy and get multiple books that have similar info. That would just slow down your studying, and I feel like my studying has been bogged down due to using too many resources.
