Kaplan FL 3---PS section

hi,

did anyone think the PS section was EXTREMELY hard? i was able to manage FL2's PS fairly well...but FL3's PS was one a complete 180 degree turn.

am i losing my confidence over nothing, or did others think this was hard too?

yea man, definitely much harder than fl2. i actually ran out of time on PS, my first time ever on FL3. I had to skip one passage, but still managed a 12 miraculously...probably cuz of kaplan's bloated scales. How did you fare?

YES...except all the PS sections have been hard for me hah. I have gone 7 (diagnostic), 9 (FL1), 7 (FL2), 7 (FL3). But I think it was a harder test overall, too, because I got the same PS score on both FL 2 and FL 3, but my percentage correct was about 15% higher on FL2 I think.

hey, thanks for the responses, guys.

well, i ended up with a 10 on the PS, my lowest score since my diagnostic. one passage, i got COMPLETELY wrong...the one about the hovercraft. so, like you, i practically skipped one too.

while w're on the topic, what did you guys think of the BS and VR sections? i thought the difficulty of both was a bit above average, and they still seem to be curving somewhat too leniently.

I thought it was hard as well. Still got a 12 but had to think through it more than others. I would not have finish if I read the whole passage first. I usually skim it to get a feel and jump into the questions and figure it out from there.

Thought the BS was easy because it has alot of my strengths on it.

Kaplan verbal sucks. Poorly written questions and answer choices. I am sticking to EK and AAMC for it.

Don't worry. Harder test equals better curve.

jdub...you know, i agree with you that kaplan verbal sucks, but they seem to be better practice than EK. even though kaplan's passages and q's can be annoying, they're not as poorly defended as EK ones. i don't know...i could be totally wrong

I actually did okay (for me, at least) on the VR and BS sections of #3. (10, 12). When I was taking the BS section I thought I was bombing it but then I ended up with a 12. The same thing happened for me on FL 2, too. I guess to my credit, though, I was at least taking educated guesses even when I felt lost - which is more than I can say for the PS section. It hurts.

PS was hard (got a 11 on it) .. you're right FL2s PS was better (13 on it)

FL 3 BS was ridiculously easy though.. or atleast the curve was (14).. I've never gotten a 14 again after that.. on anything.

Verbal ... I somehow did well on it .. my highest Verbal yet (12)
