Hey guys, just wondering if you could help me with the Kaplan blue book.

For the science, i've been hearing that it is not enough. people say it's only enough for about a 16. What is actually wrong with the book? Is it too short? Not enough material covered? and if so, what are they missing? does the material go in depth? kaplan looks like it covers the topics that are shown on the ADA website. i just wanted to know why people think it's so crappy. however, they say the 2 chemistry parts do a good job. i'm just wondering about the bio part. can people who have taken the DAT help me on this. i've been trying to look up threads but i can't find any. people usually just say that kaplan sucks.... but i just want to know for what reason. thanks, merry christmas all.

kaplan gen chem and orgo chem are pretty good but bio is def not enough.......if you have time go read shaums or campbells bio review books in areas you are weak on........aside from that destroyer is really good to practice with right before taking the dat..........topscore is good just to see how you are doing and to sharpen up your test taking skills......achiever is okay but i wouldnt go into it unless you have a lot of time since i dont feel its too indicative of how you will do on your test since the q's are too random.....although i have to say that bio q's are random on the dat as well but still i dont think they are as bad as the achiever........gluck

also, the kaplan classroom course sucks.....if you have a money to blow, the kaplan online course is worth it in my opinion and you will notice that some of the q's from kaplan's online course tests will be repeated on other dat practice materials.......its good to see repetition of q's that test the same basic knowledge in other formats since q's on the real dat will probably be variations of what you've seen before

I only used the blue book and the course during my studies.
It all depends on your science background at your college. Some colleges have great sciences, while some don't. If you feel like your college has prepared you very well in the sciences, then the blue book can work very well for you. However, if you feel like your science background is not that great, then the blue book might not be as great as you think it is.
It depends on the individual person, and everyone is obviously different.
