Did anyone who used the Kaplan Premier Program also try out the half-lengths that come on the CD? I just did the first one and while I felt that I was a little unfocused, I thought the VR section was a joke.
I pulled 87% PS, 98% VR, 82% BS. Those are numbers that suggest room for improvement, even though the curve is extremely generous (14, 14, 13, respectively). I have concentrated mostly on PS (with TBR) and VR thus far, and I will be working on BS in the next few weeks. Anyway, I just wanted to see what other people thought about the verbal sections on Kaplan tests, these in particular... I felt that I barely had to make any inferences. The only one problem I got wrong in 6 passages was an inference question that seemed much like the ones that haunted me on EK. The other inference questions were very superficial.
A side note: I can see why people think BS is more and more like VR - a lot of the biology passages that I saw in this test were more or less reading comprehension exercises coupled with deciphering graphs and results. I saw an inordinate amount of Organic Chemistry on this test which is probably why I scored 82% in addition to being generally unfocused all day. Now it looks like its time to start giving BS its due in my study schedule.
If you've taken any of those half-lengths before, let me know what you thought, especially for the 2006 edition.
