Hey guys, i'm having some really big problems with these kaplan physical science sections. I just finished kaplan FL 4, and I literally guessed on half the PS questions, and the rest I really felt bad about. Somehow I still got an 8 on the section.

My question is, is the real PS section going to be as difficult as these kaplan PS sections?

Also, I feel like I have a good understanding of a lot of the material, I have been practicing with EK 1001 Physics/Chem and Ive been doing alright on those questions. However, when it comes to reading the PS passages and then applying what I read to the problems, I am having a very tough time. Even after I go over the kaplan answers for PS, i feel like the way that they got to the answer is extremely convoluted and complex. So what can I do to translate my success on discrete problems into passage problems? I'm not a bad reader, ive been getting around 10-11 on Verbal...I'm taking the exam May 27th. Any advice would be helpful!

I totally understand what you're going through. My Kaplan PS were 8-9's. From the 3 Kaplan Full lengths and the 4 AAMC exams I've taken, I've found Kaplan has more "reasoning type" questions, and rarely any freebies or discretes. Even the independent questions require some thought before the answer. I think Kaplan requires detailed knowledge of mechanisms, and reasons behind the mechanisms. I also find that Kaplan throws a few curve balls so you really have to read the questions and answer choices carefully. But, these are just my thoughts 😳

my Kaplan PS were always higher than AAMC cuz of the easier curve on Kaplan

Regardless... you'd wanna get getting above an 8 on Kaplan's PS

The higher you score.. the weirder the scaling gets

I'd get 12s on Kaplan's PS but 13-15 on AAMC PS
