Wonder if anyone has found the qbank from Kaplan helpful for boards 2. Feedback appreciated.
I definitely found the Kaplan Qbank helpful. Here is what I used for preparation (This is way more than you asked for lol):
Kaplan Center Prep--Online QBank, explanations to released ASDA Board exams, and their practice exams with explanations were helpful. Their Lecture Notes are not even close to being comprehensive, and I did not use it. Kaplan is costly though.
Decks--A MUST. Use this as your primary source.
Released Exams--only the recent ones, 90s to now.
Mosby--used the first time around (along with decks). Everyone says it's an excellent source, and it is. But for me, Decks and Mosby alone did not cut it. I did not use the CD originally. I used it a bit this time around but did not have time to truly utilize it as a source, so I don't know how helpful it was.
Implants Notes from Class
Behavioral--used info of Decks, Mosby, Kaplan to up my score.
Went through SDN and looked up answers to all part 2 Qs on NBDE forum
Referred to text books as needed, esp to answer those Qs on SDN
For
cases:
Part of Kaplan's material was explanations to the released ASDA board exams, which has cases on it. They also made up their own mock board exams with cases on it, and that helped me the most.
Other than that, I reviewed esthetic options in my Contemporary Fixed Prosthodontic book 4th ed. by Rosenstiel, Land, and Fujimoto. Plus, I used my knowledge from dental school. I think they have improved their radiographs and pics over the course of this year.
Kaplan was inconvenient. I didn't have a test center near me (over 100 miles away) and a lot of their material that I wanted to use is at their center. They were also not always so helpful, but I finally found someone helpful right before my exam. It was still worth it.
