Hello,
Sorry to bother you guys with this. I had my Kaplan Audition a couple days ago and I just found out that I made it to the next round, the Interview.

I was just wondering if there were any Kaplan Teachers out there with advice, or questions they were asked, or just other general tips to help me out? Did you guys need to prepare a lot?

Was the interview itself pretty chill or intense?

Much appreciated.

I had an audition and interview at my center on the same day, interesting. I made it as a teacher and have thoroughly enjoyed teaching classes for the past 1.5 years.

Interview was not lax, but not tense either, but I interview very well. I'd say a tad more professional than even my dental school interviews.

As far as advice, always be able to answer the basic interview questions:

1. What is your biggest weakness? Conversly, what is your biggest strength?

2. Why do you think you will like teaching, doing "X" for Kaplan

3. What do you do outside of school?

4. Would you be willing to travel if hired? (the answer is always YES, let me assure you; and yes, Kaplan does pay for mileage)

5. What makes you think you are qualified for the position?
(and in your case, aside from excellent DAT scores)

6. What do you know about Kaplan (if you haven't taken Kaplan before, because they do have a preference for students who have taken the course because they are generally more familiar with Kaplan methods)

7. Do you forsee any conflicts of interest? (like also teaching for TPR or other learning centers)

I was asked some of those above, but the questions will always depend on your manager.

In addition, arrive ON TIME, bring a resume and dress professionally to show you are serious. Do all of the above and I think you have a great shot at getting the job.
