can the people who have watched kaplan videos share their experience. which subjects are worth it and which ones are not. i searched wasnt satisfied with the discussion in other threads.

I've watched the biochem ones and thought they were GOLD. The dude that does them really explains things well, and I honestly think I would be totally lost on biochem had I not watched them (reading the pathways on paper just made no sense to me). He's got some great tips/mnemonics and they've really helped me a ton on questions. I watched the Immuno ones because I'm weak in Immuno (had a really awful course at school) and I thought they were helpful for me but probably not necessary unless you feel weak in it (but the woman that teaches them is good). The Raymond pharm ones are pretty good, but I didn't get through them because I felt like I needed to spend time doing other things and pharm isn't one of my weaknesses. He makes a lot of good integrations though, so I kind of regret that I didn't manage my time better earlier to get through them. For physio, I've always been a little weak in cardio/resp, and I watched a few of those but ultimately also ran out of time for that. There's an Indian professor, forget his name, but he was really good.

I am weak in anatomy but felt like the anatomy videos were useless (dude literally reads off the page and adds nothing). Have heard good things about the neuroanatomy ones but didn't watch bc I'm good at neuroanatomy.

If you have the time, def watch the biochem ones and Raymond pharm. There's another pharm dude (I can't remember his name but he literally is bouncing off the walls with energy) who is ok too, esp for the "principles" of pharm. Haven't taken the test yet, but I'm really happy I watched biochem videos for sure, and the only reason I did that is because older students above me said that they thought they were clutch.

Hope this helps!

I second Hotlikesauce's sentiments. Originally I did not plan on using Kaplan all that much. Mainly just for Raymon but the more I of it I did the more I liked it. Now I'm centering my studying around using it.

The only professor I don't care for is the gentleman who teaches Neuroanatomy (he's not bad persay but he assumes you were taught well the first go round and personally I wasn't) and Histology (he doesn't add any clinical correlations or interdisciplinary insight the way Raymon or Turco do).

Anyway, The guy who does anatomy is great. The combination of Turco, Seastone, and Raymon for Biochem is money. The gentleman who does Genetics is good. The lady that doesn't Immuno/Micro is outstanding. Of course everyone knows that Raymon is unmatched at teaching pharm (best dry humor award too). I like Sanchez for general path but I would still stick to Barone for systems (2007) and Goljan for the Big picture. So for what it's worth that's my take.

what they said:
biochem(molecular stuff too), genetics and pharm are gold! 😎
anatomy(meaning histo and gross) are awful, i mean awful !!! waste of time!
neuroanatomy, didnt do it, heard good things though ...
physio is solid... not gold but solid..
path and micro, i didnt do them, cant comment on them!
hope i helped! 😀
